1- Once again UCIP LIBAN protests against the attacks and the aggressions of which journalists are victims. The last victim of such incidents was the TV presenter Nichan.
2- The UCIP hopes that Nichan gets well soon and incites all the parts to stand by the Press to stop all kinds of attacks related to the Press.
3- Lots of medias were recently object of attacks, in due form, because they tackled social topics called “sensitive” and some of them were also taken to court. The observatory of UCIP tells again that the press has to highlight social topics sapping the society. And violence can never be the response to an article or a TV show.
4- In addition, the UCIP reminds also that in such situations, the media, the presenter or the journalist concerned gives everyone his moral responsibility while dealing with any sensitive topic. They have to respect the right of reply, the objectivity and the honesty. The duty of reserve is required in these files.
