- Lebanon has lost in the assassination of Jubran Tueini, one of his most prominent free journalists, and a politician who carried the worries of the country and people. This loss is indispensable, and marks a new stage in the march of Lebanon and the Arab world. It is obvious, the extent of the enemy fierceness ambushes Lebanon, and its readiness to do anything for keeping Lebanon under its dominance.
- The assassination of Jubran Tueini, crowns the fierce attack on the Lebanese media, particularly from Syrian officials, who did not stop targeting their accusations on the Lebanese media and journalism. The media built on freedom and pluralism, has caused a contradiction to the controlled Syrian media, which aims to serve the government. It is not possible to overlook those threats in any investigation about the executors of this coward assassination.
- Targeting Jubran Tueini was not just a mere targeting to a distinguished brave personality, but aims at ANNAHAR establishment, which had carried the Lebanese independence torch, established a school for media freedom, and defend matters which concern the country. The great challenge today is to keep this school a pioneer in carrying the country's affairs, and a unique path of professionalism in the Arab World.
- The Union expresses its deep pain for the loss of the friend and the partner (associate) Jubran Tueini, whose blood irrigated the Lebanese independence procession, and the path of those who preceded him as journalism martyrs who drew the future march to independence.
Today, the Lebanese journalism is faced with a historical challenge, particularly in the midst of great dangers, that are the continuations for the battle of independence and freedom, for a country which suits the Lebanese, and the size of sacrifices of its martyrs.
