The World Forum of Professionals in the Secular and Religious Media – Lebanon denied the attack on the basises of the Lebanese Republic after that Bteghrine accident affected all public, private and media freedoms. The statement included the following:
Bteghrine accident affected the spirit of the Lebanese Republic based on the principles of public and private freedoms. It attacked individual freedoms, the freedom of political practice, and the media freedom. This constitutes a violation of the basises of the democratic regimes.
“The Lebanese authority is claimed to prove that this accident will not become a dealing rule with the opposition as happened with the closing of “MTV” television which frightened mass medias and let them always be afraid on their destiny and retreat of positions from their deep role”.
“The World Forum of Professionals in the Secular and Religious Media – Lebanon hopes that the State of AL Taef does not fail in preventing the democratic privacy of Lebanon as it failed until now in resolving the electricity problem which is persevering since ten years and costs the State and citizens billions of dollars. The attack of freedoms affects Lebanon, nation, institutions and people”.
The Forum severally denied as well the attack of publicists, especially photographers, during this accident and while they were accomplishing their role.
